The coffee is also decaffeinated at origin in Colombia, meaning that there is a lot less shipping miles with this processing method compared to alternative decaffeination methods available.

Flavour

With a SCA cup score of 84+, you should take delicate sweet peach and vanilla balanced with a rich caramel aftertaste, we've roasted this coffee to a medium level like all our decaf coffee's.
The Sugar cane processing method is unique, The caffeine is extracted using sugar cane and water which enhances sweetness while maintaining coffee attributes. The green beans are put into a steam chamber where the silver skin is removed from the bean. After this, the beans are submerged in spring water and as soon the coffee is saturated with water it is sent to the extractors where the beans have direct contact with sugar cane ethyl acetate for 8 hours which dissolves the caffeine content. Then the decaffeinated coffee is dried in a chamber to reach the same moisture content that it had prior to the process.

Really is delicious!

My first few mugs of the Delicious Decaff have been very tasty made with my new FinalPress gadget! It was so interesting to collect from the farm and see how it’s all done and chat about coffee, all very enjoyable and interesting! Am going to get a coffee grinder now so that I can buy the decaf beans and make my own! It’s so good to have such a local enterprise so close to home!
